Dos & Donts In Bhutan
Here are some of the rules and regulation that everyone should be aware before travelling to Bhutan.
- Dress modestly (covered arms, no shorts or short skirts) while entering temples, monasteries and dzongs. You are advised to
wear long sleeve shirts/collar shirts and long pants. - Do not wear hat and kindly take off your shoes while entering the religious sites.
- Photography is prohibited in most of the religious sites so kindly keep your camera in the safe place.
- Always walk clockwise at the religious sites
- Smoking in the public places is not allowed. You will be fined if found guilty.
- Please take care of your own garbage and make sure to dispose in the designated place only.
- Do not step on or climb on religious artifacts or temples, it shows disrespect.
- Carry enough cash for yourself since ATMs are not reliable. US Dollars and other currencies can be exchanged at the airport or
- you can get help from your guide to exchange the money.
- Make sure to follow traffic rules and use zebra crossing while crossing the road
- Dogs are not friendly and can be nuisance at night
- Do not point finger at people or art, it is considered as rude.
- Always follow the instruction given by your guide.
